The path is still not straight or easy if you have what it takes to fit into the fashion and modeling industry. One of the toughest career choices involves the fashion industry and modeling agencies. Those with a young heart and the right attitude can achieve great name and glory. From an early age, we anticipate our career options, discover and explore; while some people reach the right field they want to pursue, others struggle to find it. Every model must carve out a place in the industry to become modeling moguls.

Models are not about perfect appearance and functionality, but just a little bit of daring and glamor in the right direction can benefit your cause. A model features brands and accessories and is integrally associated with the fashion industry. A model’s life is made up of photo shoots, walks on the ramp, product endorsements and posing for designer clothes. One such aspiring model and photographer is Jaspreet Singh, who has been looking to model since she was 17 years old.

Jaspreet began posing in front of cameras at an early age. he was driven to become a successful model, taking inspiration from many fashion influencers and their growing popularity. He then explored photography as an occupation when he started clicking professional wedding photos with a simultaneous interest in modeling. Singh noticed his keen interest in modeling as he followed many popular role models and wanted a similar lifestyle. Jaspreet was even confined to cheating on several occasions when promised a conventional shoot; after dealing with the backlash, he discovered that he had been tricked by bogus agents.

When asked about her career in fashion, Jaspreet Singh said, “I have always given my hundred percent in pursuit of my profession. Even after facing rejection and negative ideas, I never stopped being who I am. The modeling was both challenging and surprising, and that’s what I love about it. Fashion inspires me; people who represent the fashion industry stimulate such confidence in me, and I know that I am made to be a model; it offers daily challenges that can keep me going and always make me work harder. Asked about his photography dream, Jaspreet mentioned his enthusiasm for it: “Photography is such an amazing occupation. He has so much to offer as a professional. I learned a lot about how to click a photo that brings out the best in a person’s personality. The art of photography is worth working on. Clicking photos has been a big part of my career, and I will continue to do so.

Becoming the face of a brand is a milestone that only a few take; modeling has its ups and downs, but a photographer captures art; pros don’t need to learn a certain skill; it’s an innate ability to capture a view that’s worth a million dollars. But Jaspreet Singh, with his impeccable talent, is also an art enthusiast and will hopefully rise to the top.

[ad_1]

Sometimes I’m really depressed about all the ways TikTok flattens culture, how it bombards its users with a completely random trend or subculture that becomes a nationwide talking point for about three days and doesn’t. never matter again.

It’s depressing for me because the joy of TikTok is supposed to be getting lost in the thick of it, and yet so many of us end up in the same places, even though we assume the videos we’re seeing are in. sort of a reflection of our own hyper-individual tastes. It’s depressing because if you spend enough time on TikTok, you’ll start to notice how many creators are starting to embrace each other’s cadences and editing conventions, and how a whole platform of weird and totally dissimilar may end up being labeled as “TikTok humor.”

But every once in a while I run into a TikTok user who is so funny and so captivating that it makes me forget all about it altogether. One of those people is Alex Consani, a role model and fun person about the city i started following because i needed to know where she bought some dress, and after watching more of his videos, I realized that I needed to know everything about his life.

Like all the best people on TikTok, however, she leaves the details a mystery and instead shows up in absurd situations (the outside the Pasadena Scientology Building in a semblance MTV cradles episode in which she tells people they can buy the Hunger games series of books there, for example), while contort her face in a way which is unmistakably s.

However, Alex Consani’s internet life existed long before TikTok. she was gone viral in 2016 at the age of 12, after reporting in Cosmopolitan Germany about her life as a trans model. Which, yes, only makes her 18 now, a number I was shocked to learn considering how she managed to create such a unique brand of humor and over 600,000 subscribers.

From the Bay Area – though heading to college in New York this fall – Alex chatted with me over the phone about her TikTok fame which, like many creators, exploded after the pandemic. The interview has been edited and condensed.

What happened first, modeling or being professionally funny?

I started modeling around 2015. My mom saw this really scary, dull Facebook ad for a modeling agency, and she said, “Oh, Alex, would you like to do that? And I was like, “Wait, that would be fun.” It was actually a very good experience and it helped me a lot in my career. It was an LA-based agency, so it was a lot of travel to LA, mostly to learn the ropes.

How did you get started on social media?

I’ve always had a Play-Doh face. I am very expressive. When Instagram was at its peak after Vine died, I was trying to be one of those finsta Instagram creators. [a.k.a more alternative, edgy Instagram influencers who shitpost freely rather than curating a polished aesthetic]. I was proud of what I post because I always thought it was so funny. So when TikTok came out and we were in quarantine, I saw this as an opportunity for me to release this to a wider audience. And obviously, I didn’t expect anything to come of it, but it ended up happening. I don’t know if my modeling agency likes what I post sometimes. It can be a little crazy.

What was your first introduction to the Internet?

I grew up on YouTube, obviously. I remember watching a lot of makeup tutorials from the 2000s and 2010s. Also just seeing movies and tv shows like Hannah montana where they were, texting and using social media apps and stuff.

How was it when you started blowing up on TikTok?

I have changed a lot since I started social media. I got my own sense of humor, instead of taking inspiration from other designers or things like that. Having this unique sense of humor is really what TikTok specifically lives for. I still don’t really feel like I’m funny. But once I found my ability to be comfortable on the internet and post whatever I wanted in the moment, I started to think of myself as a funny person.

You have a popular store on Depop; is that where you find most of your clothes?

I love Depop, but most of the time I can’t find the things I want at the right price because I’m very frugal with my money where I can be. I really like supporting thrift stores, and a lot of my friends are reselling clothes, so I’m just going to go buy from them. [My style is] like, Kesha mixed with Rihanna from the early 2000s.

What does your page look like for you?

Oh my God. I have the impression that my For You page is very mixed. It’s like weird audios. I don’t get much other than random compilation videos of random stuff. I love watching hair tutorials.

How do you deal with all the brands that contact you about referrals?

I want to make sure my content isn’t branded, because I like the personalized aspects of other creators, and I’m the funniest and most positive when I post things that I really want to post. So I get these brand sponsorship offers, but it’s really hard to choose what to take. When it comes to big contracts, I will definitely contact my modeling agent to make sure everything is going well.

Honestly, I haven’t made any money yet believe it or not. I am not in the Creators Fund, I just like to do [social media] to have fun. I have the impression that there are other more profitable companies, more “Alex”.

Where do you want to take your social media followers?

Modeling and being a content creator are very short careers. I’ve always had a goal of starting a business, and that’s kind of why I tried to switch to Depop a bit, just to see how I could do in the business world. This is something that I could really see myself doing and see myself really loving, a business related to fashion. I’ve worked in the fashion industry long enough that it’s something I get tired of quickly, so I don’t really know, honestly.

Dubai: Fashion giant Zara recently condemned anti-Palestinian comments by its chief designer that sparked outrage among Arabs who called for a boycott of the Spanish clothing line on social media.

Vanessa Perilman, of Jewish origin, is the chief designer of Zara for her women’s department. She has engaged in an online argument with Palestinian model Qaher Harhash over her advocacy for the Palestinians during Israel’s 11-day war on Gaza last month.

She sent a series of inflammatory messages to the 23-year-old East Jerusalem resident on Instagram. “Maybe if your people were educated then they wouldn’t blow up the hospitals and schools that Israel helped pay for in Gaza,” Perilman wrote of the Palestinian model.

In another post, she said, “People in my industry know the truth about Israel and Palestine and I will never stop standing up for Israel and people like you come and go at the end. Israelis don’t teach children to hate or throw stones at soldiers like your people do.

Harhash posted screenshots of Perilman’s posts in his Instagram Stories which went viral on social media. Many have posted messages demanding that Perilman be disciplined and calling for a boycott of Zara.

His statements angered many and led to a social media campaign to boycott the Spanish clothing retailer.

Harbash said, “I couldn’t expect someone with so much power to say things like that to people.”

He said he expected Zara to apologize to all of their Muslim clients who were insulted, and not just to him personally as it ultimately happened.

When asked if he was afraid for his career, he replied, “In some situations you have to stop being afraid of them. Sometimes the situation is bigger than one person and ultimately it is beyond the career of the individual. I’m sure there are some amazing people in the fashion industry that I’ve worked with.

Inditex, the company that owns the Zara brand, said it “accepts no disrespect for any culture, religion, country, race or creed.”

“Zara is a diverse company and we will never tolerate discrimination of any kind,” the company continued. “We condemn these comments which do not reflect our core values of mutual respect, and we regret the offense they caused.”

However, the company did not mention any plans to discipline the designer.

Fortnite’s crew skins have been everywhere, mostly original creations, but sometimes things like Green Arrow from the CW DC Universe. This month we’re going back to the originals, and this time we tie in with an iconic battle pass skin from years gone by.

Fortnite has just fully revealed Lynx’s sister, Alli like the April Crew skin, which he describes as follows:

“Feline ally, the April 2021 Crew Pack star makes his debut in Fortnite Crew. Around 8 p.m. ET on March 31, active Fortnite Crew members will receive this upcoming Crew Pack, which includes the Alli Outfit, Squee Back Bling (a warning for nasty mice), Clean Skellyfish Pickaxe, and Paw cat full of paws. Wrap and podium loading screen.

The loading screen below shows Alli at her day job strutting around the track.

Lynx was the level 1 battle pass skin for Chapter 1, Season 7, and seemed like a hacker type that you could upgrade with armor that made her look like an Iron Man and Catwoman suit. It doesn’t appear that Alli has a similar alternate armor appearance, but it’s clear the cat theme has continued.

Alli is unique in that I’ve never seen a Fortnite skin with hair quite like this, and I imagine they’ve done quite a bit of work on the physics of those strands that practically come down to her. on your knees as you run and shoot in combat, so curious to see what it will look like on the move.

As always, by subscribing to the Fortnite Crew Monthly System for $ 12, you get the Monthly Skin, Seasonal Battle Pass, and 1,000 V-Bucks per month. If you’re already spending that many V-Bucks a month on Fortnite, it probably pays off pretty quickly, so I guess a lot of avid fans have taken advantage of it, although I don’t think I’ve seen Epic actually release subscription totals. for that.

I would say that in the grand scheme of Fortnite Crew skins we’ve seen before, Alli is definitely one of the best, and would be tempting if I wasn’t already signed up for 20 other subscription services, and I didn’t ‘I don’t think you can make this a dedicated Fortnite at this point. But I mean never say never cause god knows I’ve bought a lot of skins lately so maybe I would. save money doing it. I’ll try to do this calculation later.

Alli is arriving on March 31.

[ad_1]

Fashion label Valentino has revealed that they have teamed up with VTuber Kizuna Ai for their Spring / Summer 2021 collection. Kizuna Ai has also been featured as the cover girl of commons & Sense Issue 60. Numerous pages in the magazine feature the modeling Kizuna Ai for the Valentino 2021SS collection, presenting several outfits and bags. Do you like Valentino and his fashion, but you don’t know who Kizuna Ai is and what VTuber are? We’re here to explain everything.

Simply put, a virtual YouTuber is a character created by an individual or a company, who usually has a stylized avatar in anime, and uploads videos like a normal YouTuber would.

Kizuna Ai, who debuted in 2016 in Japan, kicked off this trendy Virtual YouTuber, or VTuber. The first videos of Kizuna Ai showed the character simply introducing herself, her actress controlling the character through motion recognition. Soon after, Kizuna Ai became a social phenomenon as several short clips of his games went viral. Today, Kizuna Ai has nearly 3 million subscribers, virtual concerts, still play games, have their own virtual reality game, and different actresses express it in multiple languages.

Following the success of Kizuna Ai, many more VTubers began to appear, either independently or with corporate support. Today almost all Japanese game companies or studios have their own VTuber for promotion. Or turn their beloved and established characters into VTubers. Many live games or ad layouts also invite popular VTubers as guests. VTubers are even invited to variety shows on Japanese TV.

Rather than developing a 3D model like Kizuna Ai, which requires huge effort and money, most VTubers use Live2D instead. Technology that automatically animates 2D illustrations. Many VTubers use animated 2D portraits with Live2D. It’s easy and inexpensive access to the world of VTubing. Regularly making new videos for a VTuber is no easy task, however, even for a large company and game developers.

Why Ratchet & Clank is the most important PS5 game

While Kizuna Ai popularized VTubers, however, it’s important to note that this isn’t particularly a new concept.

Niconico Douga, which is essentially the Japanese version of YouTube, has been offering VTubers-like videos for decades. Vocaloid characters like Hatsune Miku, who are basically virtual idols who can sing whatever you want to robotic tunes, have been around for years. As well as the program Miku Miku Dance, or MMD, which is widely used to animate and create videos not only of Vocaloid but of all kinds of characters.

Another important thing to note is that the identity behind a VTuber is rarely made public. As more and more large capitalist companies enter into the VTuber business, it will inevitably lead to some problems such as lack of credit. The original Japanese version of Kizuna Ai was only officially revealed in April 2020, four years after her debut, with the voice of Japanese voice actor Nozomi Kasuga. Kizuna Ai also had his own business at the time, Kizuna Ai Co., Ltd., following the news of huge debt incurred by the original management company Activ8.

Kizuna Ai Modeling For Valentino Is Another Milestone In The Process Of VTubers Entering The Mainstream Space

  • HOLOLIVE – Vtuber Amelia Watson and her Valentine’s Day cards

VTubers are mostly popular in Japan, China, and Asia. However, some companies, such as Hololive, are also launching VTubers aimed at the English audience.

Hololive by Cover Cop is, together with Kizuna Ai, one of the most important VTuber agencies. It is one of the most popular settlements in VTuber with over a hundred talents. Hololive is everywhere, not least thanks to how quickly it introduced English VTubers to a wider audience. Hololive English was revealed in September 2020, including several names that you’ll definitely end up seeing if you stick with anime fans on social media: Watson Amelia, Ninomae Ina’nis, Takanashi Kiara, Mori Calliope, and Gawr Gura. That shark girl with the blue hoodie you’ve probably seen at least once? It’s Gawr Gura.

There is also Hololive in Indonesia, Korea and India. VTubers are particularly popular in Indonesia, China, and several Asian countries in addition to Japan.

That’s all for our intro for VTubers and Kizuna Ai. Needless to say, we tried to keep this as basic as possible and didn’t go into detail. DualShockers will cover more and more VTuber content in the long run, so stay with us if you want to check out some interesting VTubers and learn more about this phenomenon.

[ad_1]

In this holiday shopping season, retail analysts are bullish on the low price segment and expect it to outperform traditional department stores. From a consumer’s perspective, the appeal is simple: cutting-edge clothing, footwear and accessories sold 60-70% below department store prices.

As a result, the share of cheap clothes in shoppers’ closets has swelled to 15 percent this year, according to GlobalData, from 10 percent in 2008. Over the next decade, the share is expected to reach 18 percent.

And while large retailers such as TJX Cos. Inc. and Ross Stores dominate the segment, the discount retail model is a strategy that all specialty retailers can deploy. Here, Tricia Barglof, Executive Director of the Offprice Show, shares an overview of the event, which brings together retailers and brands every year.

WWD: What is driving interest in the non-price segment? Is it more than a small price?

Tricia Barglof: Competitive pricing will always be the driving force behind the success of the non-price channel, but it is not limited to low product cost. Some industry retailers still mistakenly believe that “overpriced” refers to inexpensive products or styles from last season. In reality, low priced products reflect the fashion of the current season and are simply designed with cost in mind. We like to think of the overpriced niche in the retail market where quality meets value. After overcoming the “overpriced” stigma, almost any retailer will find our industry to be a relevant buying strategy that, on some level, will bring additional benefit to their business through the creation of margins.

Offprice Show recently launched a new feature for Unique and Raised Merchandise called Boutique. What is considered “overpriced” is in a price range, and we’ve seen growth at the high end of the price spectrum, around $ 15 and up. Consumers are willing to pay a little more for a higher quality product, but still appreciate their savings on a normally expensive item.

The off-price is also a very fast channel, which means that the goods available today may be sold out by next week. Like shop owners or buyers of large retailers who also need to capitalize on today’s and tomorrow’s offerings, shoppers are excited about the chance discovery of low-cost purchases. There is a unique urgency in our industry that drives consumers to buy before the next person stumbles upon their find, and it continues to drive prices down.

Tricia barglof

WWD: Can small retailers compete in the low price segment, especially against giants like TJX Cos. and Ross Stores? How? ‘Or’ What? What strategies are needed?

TB: Smaller retailers can still develop a competitive advantage over low price giants through several strategies. The best way to stay aggressive in the market is to keep buying products in the low price channel. With the rise of regional markets and online shopping options, it’s easier than ever to find the same products (or something very similar) that consumers find in low-cost chain stores.

At the Offprice Show, we saw an increase in personalized labeling among smaller stores. With the help of some vendors, retailers can add their own specially designed labels into the garment. This strategy gives customers the impression that they can only buy the product from that retailer’s physical or online store, instead of turning to Amazon or the overpriced giants for the same item.

Especially for small shops, VIP parties or pop-up events generate interest, grab the attention of consumers and retain customers. Dining experiences like these offer shoppers an exclusive experience that many big chains are still struggling to recreate. When paired with great customer service and great prices, small businesses can gain a greater presence in the market.
